Q1. Can we get married on the site?
Absolutely, yes. We are licensed for 200 guests in the 18th Century brick barn.
Q2. Who Is The Local Registrar?
Please contact Goole Registration Office on 01482 393580. They are very helpful, but you may need to leave a message and they will get back to you.
Q3. Can We Have A Church Wedding?
Of course! There are lots of churches local to The Barns, so if you choose to get married elsewhere, you can still use the barn as your venue for your reception, wedding breakfast and evening party. The nearest church is the beautiful Holy Trinity Blacktoft Church. Howden Minster is also spectacular.
Q4. What Is Your Closing Time?
We are part of our (small) community and although we are in a rural environment we do want to be good neighbours. For this reason our events finish at Midnight.
Q5. What Is Your Dining Capacity?
The space will accommodate up to 150 people seated. We provide tables and chairs for up to 120 people and any extras are hired in at additional cost.
Q6. Can We Invite Additional Evening Guests?
There is plenty of room for an additional 50 guests in the evening (200 total guests), for drinks and dancing.
Q7. Do You Have Outdoor Heaters?
We have outdoor fire pits for guests to keep warm. Our covered seating area has sofas so that you can sit around the fireplace.
Q8. Are The Barns Warm?
Yes, we heat the barns to a comfortable temperature. The heating is included in the cost.
Q9. Do You Have On-Site Accommodation?
Yes, please see our accommodation section on the website. We also offer camping or glamping, which is supplied by one of our recommended suppliers.
Q10. What Do We Do About Music?
You could hire a DJ and DJ equipment or a live band. It's up to you. We are happy for you to play music outside during your daytime drinks reception.
Q11. Can We Bring Our Own Flowers & Decorations?
Of course, we have a great list of florists on our suppliers list.
Q12. Can We Bring Our Own Alcohol?
We offer a range of options. Please ask for more information.
Q13. Can We Use Our Own Caterers?
We do accept outside caterers, although we recommend ones that we have worked with in the past and that we know and trust. See our suppliers list
Q14. Do You Have A Wedding Planning Service?
Our on-site team at The Barns are on hand to help you organise anything to do with the ceremony, the venue and the catering. They will support you throughout the planning process and will be there on the day to make sure everything goes smoothly. Our guests are always impressed with the level of service they receive from our on-site teams.
Q15. What Happens If My Event Is Cancelled?
On rare occasions a client will need to cancel their event. We recommend that you get wedding insurance in case of unforeseeable circumstances.
